Macquarie Securities Group

Macquarie Securities Group (MSG) encompasses Macquarie’s institutional stockbroking, equity derivatives and equity finance activities. The Group utilises its skills in research and risk management to develop equity-based financial solutions and services for clients globally.

MSG has three main businesses:

  • The Institutional Stockbroking business provides sales and execution for institutional investors.
  • Macquarie Research provides analysis and market intelligence across key industry sectors including Infrastructure & Industrials, Utilities, Property/REITs, Oil & Gas, TMT, Gaming and Quantitative research.
  • Our specialist product and structuring teams provide equity finance and equity-linked investment trading and risk management services to wholesale clients. Our Derivatives area provides services to Hedge Funds including market access, leverage, stock-borrowing and execution.

Middle and Back office departments include Finance, Operations, Risk Management, Technology and HR.

What might I be doing as a Graduate within Macquarie Securities?

Opportunities typically exist for graduates in Trading, Sales trading, Sales, Structuring, Research and Middle Office.

You will be allocated to a business stream from day one where your strong passion for equities and thirst for learning will see you exposed to a myriad of work and business-based career opportunities.  You will have direct access to senior management as well as being provided with the opportunity to demonstrate your ability in being able to build strong working partnerships with colleagues and clients.

MSG graduates are given the opportunity to attend a variety of business and personal development programs. Further study is encouraged.

Past graduates have completed degrees in a variety of disciplines including finance, economics, mathematics, engineering, business and computer science. Undergraduate, postgraduate and MBA applicants will be considered.

What might I be doing as an Intern within Macquarie Securities?

Similar to the graduate program, interns are placed directly into a business stream and are exposed directly to their chosen area of interest. The intern program typically runs for 10 weeks throughout the summer vacation period each year.
