Macquarie Capital Advisors provides advisory and capital raising services to corporate and government clients involved in public mergers and acquisitions (M&A), private treaty acquisitions and divestments, debt and equity fund raising and corporate restructuring. Macquarie Capital Advisors advised on 299 transactions totaling approximately US$168 billion for the year to 31 March 2009. Macquarie Capital Funds acquires and manages infrastructure and other specialized assets on behalf of external investors through 47 listed and unlisted vehicles around the world. Funds staff work closely with the management teams of each asset and business to optimize business planning and strategy, capital structure, performance and risk management. The Funds portfolio comprises approximately 110 businesses in 25 countries and includes toll roads, airports, ports, water utilities, communications, infrastructure, social infrastructure, electricity and gas distribution networks. What might I be doing as a Graduate within Macquarie Capital?Graduates commence work in Macquarie Capital where they are exposed to a range of industry sectors including Infrastructure and Utilities; Diversified Industries; Telecommunications, Media, Entertainment and Technology (TMET); Resources; Real Estate and Financial Institutions and specialist product groups including Macquarie Capital Funds, Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, and Private Capital Markets. What might I be doing on an Internship within Macquarie Capital?Macquarie Capital’s Summer Internship Program runs for 10 weeks from early June to mid August and exposes you to a dynamic working environment with the opportunity to be involved in and contribute to high-profile transactions whilst working with the best people in the industry. As an intern, you will spend the majority of the program “on the job” however will also be provided with training and development opportunities during the internship period. Macquarie Capital’s comprehensive induction and training program includes sessions to develop your financial modeling, presentation and communications skills; and the opportunity to present a pitch to a board of Senior Macquarie Directors at the end of the internship. In addition to providing you with technical skills and experience, the Macquarie Capital Summer Internship Program provides you with opportunities to develop your interpersonal skills through networking with current employees at various social events and sporting activities. This is a great chance to get a foot in the door at one of the leading investment and advisory firms and gain valuable work experience.
