Jim Rossman Joins Macquarie Capital To Establish U.S. Equity Capital Markets Business

NEW YORK, February 21, 2008 —  Macquarie Group, a diversified global financial services organization, today announced that Mr Jim Rossman has joined Macquarie Capital (USA) Inc. as a Senior Managing Director and head of the firm’s newly established U.S. Equity Capital Markets business. Mr Rossman will be based in New York.

Mr Rossman joins Macquarie Capital from HSBC Securities (USA) Inc., where he was a Managing Director, Head of Equity Capital Markets for the Americas and Head of Global Banking for Latin America. Prior to his role at HSBC, Mr Rossman was Head of Equity Capital Markets for Lazard Freres, a Senior Vice President in ECM at Lehman Brothers, and a securities lawyer at Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton.

Macquarie’s global advisory business, Macquarie Capital Advisors, specializes in a range of corporate advisory services including mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets, restructurings, project finance, structured finance and tailored strategic and financial advice. In the United States, Macquarie's Capital Advisors team operates through Macquarie Capital (USA) Inc.

Macquarie’s U.S. Equity Capital Markets business will offer advisory and capital raising services with respect to equity financings including initial public offerings, follow on financings and alternative equities. The business will be initially focused on areas of Macquarie expertise globally including infrastructure, utilities, resources, real estate, gaming and leisure, and energy, oil and gas.

Mr Rossman holds a bachelor's degree from Kenyon College, a master’s degree from the University of Virginia and a law degree from New York University.
