Macquarie Real Estate Capital - Europe Macquarie Real Estate's strategic focus is on the creation and management of real estate investment trusts (REITs) in the world’s major capital markets. We currently manage seven REITs in three countries and have a long-term track record of outperforming relevant benchmark indices. In 2005, our listed Australian real estate trusts were collectively the largest foreign investor in the US commercial real estate market. In Europe, we intend to invest via our existing real estate vehicles and also take advantage of the growing number of opportunities that have arisen from the introduction of REIT style legislation in the UK and the proposed introduction of REIT style legislation in Germany.
