   Home      About Macquarie

At Macquarie, we believe our most valuable assets leave the building at the end of each day. We recruit and retain people who will thrive in the Macquarie culture and support our goals and values. To help us find you, we undertake an extremely thorough and comprehensive recruitment process. We seek candidates who satisfy a broad range of criteria in terms of their ability to make a positive, ongoing contribution to Macquarie.

Our graduate and intern recruitment process is the same and includes the below steps.

Applications

All applications must be submitted via our website.

Select 'Search Jobs', located in the right-hand navigation menu to access the online application form. You will be required to enter a job number, please refer to the below:

Graduate Opportunities

  • Graduate Opportunities Job Number 568857

Summer Intern Opportunities

  • Summer Internship Opportunities Job Number 568858

You will need to attach your resume, a covering letter and your academic transcripts if available.

Whilst you will need to submit your application to a specific business group, you will be considered for graduate opportunities throughout Macquarie, therefore you will not need to submit multiple applications for consideration.

Interviews

All first-round interviews will be held at a Macquarie office and will typically be with a member of the recruitment team. This is a general interview to find out more about your interest in the industry, your commercial awareness and your knowledge of Macquarie.

During the second-round interview, you will meet with several members of the relevant business group you wish to join. These interviews will be technically focused exploring in more detail your commercial awareness.

Assessment

Following first-round interviews, successful candidates will be invited to complete a psychometric assessment. This is a standard component of the recruitment process at Macquarie.

Psychometric assessments are available in a variety of languages. Below are example questions in each of the languages offered to assist you in choosing the most appropriate language for your skill level. Generally, this will be your native language and should not be impacted by the location of the position you are applying for. You should only complete the assessment in English if that is your strongest language. Please inform the recruitment contact of your preferred language when booking your assessment session.

Tips

  • Ensure you are sitting the assessment in your native/preferred language
  • Bring reading glasses if required. All other materials will be provided
  • Get a good night’s sleep, wear comfortable clothing, and eat something prior to the assessment
  • Reschedule the assessment if you are unwell or facing circumstances which may adversely impact your performance as applicants have just one opportunity to complete the assessment
  • Ensure you bring a valid form of photo identification with you to the assessment (assessment can not be conducted without it)
  • Notify Macquarie Assessment & Development if you have a disability or there are other circumstances that may prevent you from obtaining the best possible outcome on the assessment so we can consider making appropriate and reasonable adjustments. Macquarie encourages open discussion about an applicant’s disability at all stages of the recruitment and placement process and aims to give an applicant every opportunity to perform at their best
