21 October 2004 Macquarie New Zealand's Wellington office is moving up in the world with a relocation to level five, The Todd Building, 95 Customhouse Quay in Wellington. The move takes effect from Tuesday, 26th October 2004. Macquarie was previously located on the ground floor. The Head of Macquarie Financial Services Group (New Zealand), John Rowley, said the new location was another step in expanding Macquarie's comprehensive services to New Zealanders. Level five has been especially designed to accommodate our 35 staff, with room for further growth, so we can continue to provide financial planning, full service stock broking and investment strategies to investors in the greater Wellington region". "It is important for us to continually expand our business to ensure our facilities meet the needs of our growing client base," Mr Rowley said. Macquarie New Zealand today also announced that Business Development Manager Thom Bentley will relocate from Auckland to Christchurch, effective from Monday, November 1st 2004. "A growing number of our financial adviser clients are based in the South Island, and its important that we have a presence on the ground to meet their requirements," Mr Rowley said. Mr Bentley will provide innovative investment solutions to the South Island's financial advisers, with a particular focus on alternative asset products, Mr Rowley said. With more than 6,000 staff in 23 countries and total funds under management of A$63 billion (NZ$66.7 billion, as at 31/03/04), the Macquarie Group brings international investment expertise to New Zealand.
