Macquarie Power Income Fund Announces Appointment Of New Chief Financial Officer

TORONTO, February 11, 2005 - The Macquarie Power Income Fund (TSX: MPT.UN - the “Fund”) today announced the appointment of Mr. Harry Atterton as Chief Financial Officer, effective 1 March 2005.

Mr. Atterton will replace the current Chief Financial Officer of the Fund, Mr. Germain Lecours, who will be leaving his position with the Fund to pursue other opportunities.    

Germain Lecours has been with the Fund since its establishment in April 2004 and has been working with Mr. Atterton to ensure a smooth transition of financial responsibilities for the Fund.

“Harry Atterton offers a wealth of professional expertise from previous roles. We are delighted to have the depth of financial and business skills that Harry will offer to the Fund,” said Derek Brown, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Macquarie Power Income Fund.

Mr. Atterton brings over 17 years of Canadian and international finance experience to the role. Prior to his appointment with the Fund, Mr. Atterton was Firm Director within the Financial Advisory Practice of Deloitte in Toronto, providing merger and acquisitions advice to a range of strategic and equity investors. Mr. Atterton is a Chartered Accountant and Certified Fraud Examiner and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Windsor.

Macquarie Power Income Fund is an unincorporated limited purpose trust which owns a 156 MW gas-fired cogeneration power station located in Cardinal, Ontario. The Fund’s units are listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol MPT.UN.
