Allied Irish Banks logo

Allied Irish Banks p.l.c. (AIB) is the leading bank in Ireland that has a specialist division dedicated to investing and lending to infrastructure projects in Ireland, the UK and Europe. AIB has a portfolio of more than €2.5 billion in infrastructure projects with almost half of that in PPPs. This has included rail projects such as the extension of Docklands Light Railway network to London City Airport and the construction of N7 Limerick Road and Tunnel project. AIB recorded revenue of €4.3 billion in the financial year ended 31 December 2006.

Alpine logo

Alpine Bau is majority owned by FCC and is regarded as a global leader in tunnel construction specialising in large and technically complex works. Alpine Bau was appointed as a specialist consultant on the Dublin Port Tunnel project to advise on various options and construction rectification techniques. Other significant tunnel projects include Gotthard Base Tunnel in Switzerland (the world’s longest tunnel), and an extension to the Singapore underground rail network. Alpine Bau had revenues of €2.01 billion for 2006.

Bombardier Logo

Bombardier Transportation is one of the pre-eminent global providers of rail transport equipment and total transit solutions. The company has a presence in more than 21 countries in Europe, the Americas, and the Far East employing over 35,000 people. Bombardier Transportation supplies rolling stock and other equipment to more than 40 light rail networks worldwide, including Oporto, Frankfurt, Marseille and the PPP project of Nottingham Express Transit in the United Kingdom. Bombardier Transportation generated revenues in excess of €5 billion in the financial year ended 31 January 2007 and had an order book of €22 billion.

FFC Logo

FCC Construcción is the construction arm within the FCC S.A. Group and has more than 100 years of construction history primarily in civil and building works. FCC Construcción has extensive experience in tunnelling and major transport projects, including Athens Metro and the recent extensions to Madrid and Barcelona metros. FCC Construcción has an established presence in Ireland where it has been successful on the N6 Galway to Ballinasloe and M50 PPP road projects. FCC total revenue for the 2006 financial year was €9.48 billion.

Globalvia Logo

Global Vía Infraestructuras, S.A. (Global Via) is a joint venture created by the construction branch of FCC and Corporación Caja Madrid (Caja Madrid), Spain’s second largest savings bank. Global Via will operate the existing infrastructure businesses of FCC and Caja Madrid, which currently includes 36 concessions, and will bid for and develop new infrastructure projects and concessions globally.

Lagan logo

Lagan Construction delivers innovative civil engineering and building solutions to public and private sector clients throughout Ireland, the UK and internationally. Part of the Lagan group of companies, Lagan Construction has shared success in PPP projects including the €400 million Limerick Tunnel and as part of the consortium that was made Preferred Bidder in the £250 million DBBFO Package 2 road scheme in Northern Ireland. Lagan Group’s 2006 turnover was approximately €490 million.

Mercury Logo

Mercury Engineering is the leading Mechanical and Electrical engineering services company in Ireland. Mercury designs and installs building services such as Electrical and Instrumentation, HVAC, Fire Protection, Building Management Systems (BMS) and IT cabling. In 2006, they generated revenues of approximately €500 million, working on diversified projects such as Dublin Port Tunnel, the LUAS light rail system in Dublin, a Biotechnology campus for Wyeth Medica and the RCSI Medical University in Bahrain.

Moto Hospitality Logo

Moto Hospitality Limited is the UK’s largest motorway service area operator operating 32 services areas throughout the UK. Moto was acquired by a Macquarie-led consortium in 2006.

Pierse Group logo

The Pierse Group is a leading property developer and building and civil engineering contractor operating in Ireland and the UK. Recently the Pierse Group was involved with the National Maritime College PPP project in Cork. Their group turnover for 2006 was more than €470 million.

Pihl logo

E. Pihl & Son (Pihl), a family owned firm, is the second largest construction contractor in Denmark involved in large infrastructure projects such as bridges, tunnels, roads, and airports. Pihl has extensive experience in the construction and rehabilitation of existing buildings of cultural significance such as the €300 million Copenhagen Opera House and €50 million Royal Theatre Playhouse in Copenhagen. A trimmed and alert organisation, respecting its roots of handicraft, the Pihl of today is capable of delivering the most complex tasks through the skill and talent available within the organisation. In 2007 revenues were in excess of €800 million.

Q-Park is a leading parking organisation which provides quality parking facilities in Ireland and across Europe. It manages and operates car parking contracts for the Luas Park and Ride facilities in Dublin, and Saint Vincent's University Hospital. They have previous PPP experience, most notably on large UK hospitals. Q Park's turnover in 2006 was €325 million.

Serco logo

Serco, the largest outsourcing company in Europe with a turnover of €3.7 billion, has extensive public sector experience together with 12 PPP projects. Serco Integrated FM, whose global facilities management business is now based in Dublin, originally entered Ireland in 1989 with Dublin City Council’s five year maintenance contract and the company has continued to grow with significant contracts for both central government and blue-chip clients such as Microsoft Europe and the European Commission.

Sisk logo

Founded in 1859, John Sisk & Son is the leading construction contractor in Ireland with offices across Ireland and the UK. John Sisk & Son works with a full range of Government, semi-state and private client sectors in commercial, electronics, pharmaceutical, medical, educational, residential, hotels and transport. The company participates in all recognised contract formats including main contractor, design & build, DBFO/PPP, ECI, partnering, management and turnkey operations. John Sisk & Son is part of the consortium that is operating the N8 Fermoy Bypass and constructing the Limerick Tunnel PPP scheme. Revenues for 2006 exceeded €1.5 billion.

Sodexho logo

Sodexho's specialist PPP facilities management business is actively engaged in projects of all sizes in the healthcare, education and defence sectors. To date, they have closed 11 PPP projects. Sodexho's culture is one of cooperation and long-term commitment to these types of projects, built on mutual trust and best value principles. In 2005 the company had a worldwide group turnover of €11.7 billion.

Transdev Logo

Transdev is a world class, international operator of public urban and interurban transport systems. The Transdev Group operates the Porto Metro and Madrid Metro West, which are regarded as two of the most cost effective networks in Europe. Transdev Group’s current fleet includes 92 metro vehicles, 950 tram vehicles, 20 trains, 23 river shuttles and 10,000 buses and coaches, and transports more than one billion passengers annually. Transdev Group generated revenues in excess of €1 billion in the 2006 financial year.

Treasury Logo

Treasury Holdings is one of Ireland’s largest and most successful property companies. Established in 1989, they have been a pioneer in Dublin’s growing property market and currently control a property portfolio valued in excess of €3.35 billion. Their worldwide holdings include property in UK, Russia, China, mainland Europe as well as Ireland. In Dublin, they are currently developing Spencer Dock which is seen as the most ambitious example of urban regeneration ever undertaken in Ireland.
