In September 2008, the Siansa consortium, of which Macquarie is financial advisor and lead equity sponsor, pre-qualified to bid the PPP redevelopment of the National Concert Hall, Dublin. Our partners include John Sisk & Son Holdings (design and build), E. Pihl & Son (design and build) and Serco (facilities management).
The National Concert Hall is one of the most important cultural institutions presenting in excess of 500 musical events to over 300,000 people each year. The successful bidder will be required to deliver a new world-class auditorium with 2,050 seats, upgrade the present 1,000 seat auditorium, and provide a third flexible hall with a capacity for around 480 seats.
The Design Build Finance and Operate PPP project is being procured by the National Development Finance Agency (NDFA) on behalf of the Department of Arts, Sports and Tourism (assisted by the Commissioner for Public Works) and is a component of Ireland's National Development Plan.
Other Siansa partners include:
- Henning Larsen Architects - architect of Copenhagen Opera house (built by E. Pihl & Son)
- RKD Architects Limited - leading Irish architect
- ARUP & Partners International Limited - pre-eminent acoustic advisers
- Carr & Angier - theatre consultants
The Siansa consortium is aiming to redevelop the National Concert Hall so that it ranks alongside the greatest concert halls worldwide.
