Macquarie International Infrastructured Fund Limited - Miif JV Announces Acquisition of Landfill Gas Assets

21 October 2005

Novera Macquarie Renewable Energy (NMRE) today announced the acquisition of landfill gas assets in the UK with total value of GBP11 million excluding transaction costs. The acquisition further strengthens NMRE's position as the UK's second largest landfill gas power generator.

NMRE is a 50:50 joint venture between Macquarie International Infrastructure Fund Limited and Novera Energy Limited.

Consistent with MIIF's investment policy, the acquisition is expected to deliver a high and predictable level of return by way of dividends, and also presents opportunities for further capital growth. The first year yield is expected to be greater than 10% and to grow over time.

Mr Gregory Osborne, Managing Director of MIIF's Manager, said: “This acquisition is another yield accretive addition to our renewable energy infrastructure asset portfolio. With similar high quality assets in the deal pipeline, we expect a number of similar additions to be made in the future.”
