The Gas Company (TGC) is a producer and distributor of synthetic natural gas (SNG) and a distributor of propane gas on the six major islands of Hawaii. TGC owns and operates an SNG plant and more than 1,000 miles of pipeline serving approximately 35,000 utility customers (businesses and households). The business serves an additional 33,000 non-utlity customers via on-site propane tanks or portable gas cylinders.

The Gas Company operates the only gas utility in the Hawaiian islands and the state's largest propane distribution business. Customers are served by TGC's more than 300 employees. The Gas Company has served the needs of Hawaiian consumers for more than 100 years.

The drivers of growth in this business are demographic and economic expansion in the state of Hawaii and shifts of end users between gas and other energy sources and competitors.
