Macquarie Atlas Roads Limited’s Board comprises four directors, each with broad industry experience.
The directors take an active role in the management of MARL, meeting on a regular basis to review MARL’s affairs. Where required, the Board convenes at short notice to consider matters as they arise.

David is an experienced corporate and commercial lawyer and company director. He was a partner of the law firm Mallesons Stephen Jaques from 1962 to 2004. Currently, he is the chairman of Templeton Global Growth Fund Limited. During the last three years he has also served as a director of Intoll Management Limited, PaperlinX Limited (2000–2007) and Dyno Nobel Limited (2006–2008).
Marc de Cure is Chair of the Australian Institute for Population Aging Research and is a member of the Advisory Council of the UNSW Australian School of Business. He was formerly the Chief Financial Officer of American International Assurance Company Ltd Group in Hong Kong, the Chief Financial Officer of AMP Group Limited, Executive Chair of GIO Australia Group, Executive Director of Henderson plc and also held other senior executive positions at AMP Limited. He is a former Principal Advisor to Bain & Co and was a senior partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers until 2000.

Richard England, who has also been appointed as the Chairman of the Audit and Risk Committee of MARL, is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is a director of a number of other ASX-listed companies including Ruralco Holdings (Chairman), Chandler McLeod Group (Chairman) and Nanosonics Limited. He is a former director of St George Bank, Healthscope Limited and Choiseul Investment Limited. Richard is also a former partner of Ernst & Young (Australia).

John joined Macquarie in 1991 and is Executive Chairman of the Macquarie Funds Group which has in excess of US$300 billion of funds under management, and includes the activity of the Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets division ("MIRA"). John serves on the Boards and/or Investment Committees of a number of Macquarie-managed international infrastructure entities to provide oversight and strategic direction to individual fund management executive teams.
Previous roles within Macquarie include Head of Europe, Joint Head of Macquarie Capital Advisers and Global Head of Macquarie Capital Funds.
John has a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Canterbury New Zealand.
