Executive Team

The executives listed below are the key individuals that manage the GIF funds. In addition, they are supported by over 400 executives globally who are focussed on the various Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Asset businesses.

David Luboff BComm, Bachelor of Applied Finance: Chief Executive Officer
Executive Director

David has been the Chief Executive Officer of MSAM since February 2009. David leads the team of MSAM executives and is responsible for all aspects of MSAM fund performance under the direction of the MSAM Board. Before being promoted to the CEO role, David was the Chief Investment Officer of MSAM and was mainly responsible for MSAM fund infrastructure acquisitions. David was also previously the Chief Financial Officer of ASX listed Macquarie Airports. Prior to his role in Macquarie Capital Funds, David worked in Macquarie Capital’s infrastructure advisory division in New York for three years.

Jason Soon BComm (Finance), Bachelor of Laws: Investments/Divestments
Associate Director

Jason joined the MSAM team in October 2009 and is responsible for the review and execution of acquisitions and divestments by MSAM managed funds. Jason has over seven years of experience within Macquarie Capital Funds, including transactions in the road infrastructure sector and the listing of infrastructure funds on the NYSE and Korea Stock Exchange. Prior to joining MSAM, Jason performed an investment review function for Macquarie’s infrastructure funds in Asia and the Middle East.

Nicholas Kuys CA(SA), MBA: Operations/IR
Senior Manager

Nick has been the MSAM Chief Operating Officer since September 2007. Nick’s responsibilities include day-to-day coordination of MSAM activities, distribution planning, investor reporting, board reporting and compliance and risk management. Prior to his role at Macquarie Capital Funds, Nick worked for Westpac Bank and as an accountant in public practice for Deloitte and Touché in South Africa.

Michelle Elliot BComm (Law), CA(SA): Senior Manager

Michelle joined the MSAM team in April 2009 and has been with Macquarie Capital Funds for four years. Michelle manages the finance function within the team and is responsible for the financial reporting and tax compliance, cash management and distribution processes. Prior to her role at Macquarie, she worked as an accountant in public practice for KPMG in South Africa
