Management team

Nicholas O'Kane is an Executive Director of Macquarie Bank Limited and the Head of the Energy Markets Division in North America.

Mr. O'Kane, a graduate of the University of Melbourne, joined Macquarie Bank in March 1995.  Mr. O'Kane has significant global commodity and financial markets trading experience having worked in Melbourne, Sydney, Kuala Lumper, Seoul, London and Los Angeles.  Highlights of Mr. O'Kane's career at Macquarie include managing market risk in Malaysia through the 1998 financial crisis, forming and cultivating a financial markets joint venture with the largest Korean commercial bank, and managing the Bank's global Energy Markets exposures. 

During his tenure in Korea, Mr. O’Kane was a pioneer in the local derivatives market.  He introduced concepts such as asset-backed securities, developed innovative solutions for managing clients swaps and option book risks, and structured risk management solutions for project finance activities.

Mr. O’Kane is currently the Chairman of Macquarie Cook Energy and Head of Energy Markets North America.  In this capacity, Mr. O’Kane has oversight of a physical and financial trading operation with over $4 billion in turnover per annum.  His responsibility also includes evaluation of asset opportunities (storage and transportation) and structured transactions across North America. 

Hans Saeby
President, Macquarie Cook Energy

Mr Saeby joined Cook Inlet in 1992 after a career with Amoco in Canada and the United States. As President of Cook Inlet Mr Saeby directed the company from a start up to a successful North American gas marketing enterprise. In 2004, Mr Saeby received an appointment to the Industry Trade Advisory Committee (ITAC), which advises the US Secretary of Commerce on trade policy and trade-related matters. He is a registered professional engineer and holds a Masters of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Lund in Sweden.

Mr Saeby is currently the President of Macquarie Cook Energy.

Ron Neal
Head of Origination and Structuring, Macquarie Cook Energy
Division Director, Macquarie Bank Limited 

Joining Macquarie in 2004, Mr Neal has more than 20 years of energy risk management experience. Mr Neal’s experience includes working for Koch Industries, Chase Manhattan Bank, Citibank and most recently at Bank of America where he managed the natural gas trading desk.

Mr Neal is currently the Head of Origination and Structuring for Macquarie Cook Energy.

Cindy Khek
Head of Trading, Macquarie Cook Energy
Division Director, Macquarie Bank Limited 

Ms Khek joined Cook Inlet as a gas scheduler in 1997. She held various positions within the organization including Manager of Transportation and Director of the Canadian/PNW trading desk.

Ms Khek is the Head of Trading for Macquarie Cook Energy and is responsible for all trading activity conducted by the regional trading desks.
