Macquarie Capital Securities (Japan) Limited is a member of the Tokyo Stock Exchange, Osaka and JASDAQ Securities Exchanges and has 20 equity research analysts based in Tokyo covering a broad range of industries. To market these products we have close to 30 sales and sales-trading staff globally.

Our equities research provides economic, financial markets and stock specific analysis for clients of the Macquarie Group. In addition, we market some derivatives and structured quantitative products.

Japanese Equity Sales

Macquarie has sales teams in Tokyo, London, Geneva, Frankfurt, New York and Boston giving coverage of institutional investors and hedge funds in all time zones. These teams sell fundamental equity research, quantitative research, equity derivatives and structured products.

Research

The research team produces idea driven, intelligent, rigorous research for the world's most experienced, knowledgeable investors on Japan.

Analysts are clustered into the three broad thematic groups of domestic reflation, global industries and Asian technologies.

Macquarie also has a world class quant product on Japan.

Derivatives

Since 1999, Macquarie Group has been offering Equity Linked bonds to global investors including Japanese securities houses, becoming a prominent issuer in the equity linked private placement market.

In Nov 2005, with the expansion of its Japanese team, Macquarie is aiming to broaden its product range to cover non Japanese underlyings, REITS, alternative investments, OTC equity options, structured bonds and investment trusts.

Private Placement Group

Private Placement Group introduces the investment opportunity information mainly focused on real estate and its related fund as well as infrastructure asset and fund in developed and emerging countries to investors and distributors in Japan.

Macquarie Funds Group

Macquarie Funds Group ("MFG") was formally established in August 2008 by combining the investment funds and structured product capabilities from three previously separate operating groups. MFG has operations in Australia, Asia, Europe and the US.

MFG's team in Japan has been working with asset management companies, brokers and institutional investors to structure, originate and support investment fund products managed by Macquarie for Japanese investors of all kinds since 2006. Examples of the products offered by MFG are: mass retail long-only investment funds, offshore structured products suitable for high net worth investors, hedge funds, thematic funds and fund derivatives.

Structured Finance

 We provide assistance on corporate and project financing transactions where a wide range of structuring issues require the technical skills to ensure maximum benefits are realised from the transaction.

Cross-border leasing

 We advise on and arrange finance for major capital expenditures over a variety of assets including aircraft, trains, power and telecommunications assets for a range of international clients. Macquarie is a dominant player in this area globally.
