Board and governance
The Macquarie Group Foundation Board consists of senior executives who bring specific areas of expertise and experience to the Board. The Macquarie Group Foundation Board meets quarterly to assess funding applications, review the Foundation’s activities and to set and monitor strategy.

David Clarke, Chairman
David has been Chairman of Macquarie since its inception in 1985. The Macquarie Group Foundation, which he founded as the Hill Samuel Charitable Trust in 1971, is now one of Australia's largest corporate foundations. David was educated at Sydney University (B.Econ (Hons)) and Harvard University (MBA). He holds an honorary Doctorate of Science in Economics from Sydney University (Hon DScEcon Sydney).

Julie White, Head
With more than 25 years experience in both the not-for-profit and corporate sectors, Julie has helped build numerous business community partnerships, based on a detailed understanding of the often competing requirements of the two sectors. Julie holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Sydney. |

James Hodgkinson
James is an Executive Director of Macquarie and Co-head of the Real Estate Capital Division. He has a Bachelor of Economics, is a CPA and is a Fellow of the Australian Property Institute. James has over 19 years of experience in property funds management, investment advisory and chartered accounting. In addition, he is a Governor of the Cerebral Palsy Foundation. |

Kris Neill
Kris is Head of the Corporate Communications Division at Macquarie. A former journalist and senior political adviser, Kris has almost 20 years of media and issues management experience. Kris has responsibility for Macquarie's issues management and internal communications strategies in Australia and internationally.

Greg Ward
Greg joined Macquarie in 1996 and was appointed Chief Financial Officer in January 1998. He is also a member of Macquarie’s Executive Committee. Greg is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and holds a Master of Economics and is an Associate of the Securities Institute of Australia. Greg has nearly 20 years experience in finance and financial services. |

Sheryl Weil
Sheryl Weil is Head of Operations for Macquarie Adviser Services. With more than 22 years' experience in financial services and a national team of 370 staff, Sheryl is kept aware of the philanthropic priorities of Macquarie staff at many levels in the community. While she oversees the management of client service provision in Macquarie's Adviser Services Group, her program of continuous client service improvement in those operations has introduced a level of excellence and changed the way that an entire division does business.

David Bennett
David Bennett is an Executive Director and holds the position of Head of Debt Structuring and Distribution. David joined Macquarie in 1999 following the acquisition of Bankers Trust Australia's Investment Banking Group. David has a BCom (UNSW) and has had over 29 years experience in investment advisory.

John M. Green
John is a former Executive Director of Macquarie. John joined Macquarie in 1993 and during his time with Macquarie, had leading roles in major transactions including mergers and acquisitions, defences, reconstructions and equity issues.
