Securities Lending

Macquarie is an active participant in the global securities lending market.

Our strong relationships with major financial institutions and broker/dealers worldwide enable access to a wide range of securities. These relationships allow us to develop structures which extract additional value from the securities and can, for example:

  • enable investment managers to maximise the value in their portfolio or
  • provide efficient financing for leveraged investors.

Our securities lending activities also facilitate:

  • the covering of failed trades
  • hedging activities and
  • the taking of outright short positions.

We are a member of the Australian Securities Lending Association and the Pan-Asia Securities Lending Association.
