Macquarie Austria GmbH, the Austrian business entity of Macquarie, works with leading local and regional partners in Austria, combining our own technical competencies with the established presence of market participants to develop products specifically for the Austrian and Central and Eastern European markets.
Opened in 2001, the team is supported by the Macquarie Group worldwide.
Our activities in Austria include:
- Corporate Advisory / Project Finance and Infrastructure Advisory – Macquarie is one of the pioneers of public private partnerships (PPP) in Austria, acting as financial adviser on several deals in sectors including telecommunications and motorways. Macquarie was the financial adviser to a consortium of leading telecommunications companies on the provision of an Austrian-wide secure radio network for the Ministry of the Interior – one of the first PPP models in Austria. Macquarie is currently advising two of Austria’s largest construction companies which are bidding for a concession to construct and operate the A5 Nordautobahn. This project is also structured as a PPP model.
- Macquarie Funds Group – Macquarie has developed efficient, asset-based financing structures for various Austrian public and private sector institutions. We also offer tailored, structured, tax-optimising investment advisory products for institutional investors and high-net-worth individuals. Recently, we introduced infrastructure as an investment alternative to private individuals and foundations.
- Macquarie Corporate and Asset Finance – Since the beginning of 2005 Macquarie Corporate and Asset Finance has been active in Central and Eastern Europe, offering alternative financing solutions for IT equipment and technology.
