Macquarie has been made aware of reports that fraudulent employment offers are being made to prospective candidates in Macquarie’s name.
Recruitment fraud is a sophisticated fraud involving the offer of fictitious job opportunities to prospective candidates by people claiming to work for, or be affiliated with, Macquarie. These communications do not originate from Macquarie and are perpetrated by individuals unaffiliated with Macquarie or any of its associated entities. Recruitment fraud is typically perpetrated through online services such as false websites and fraudulent job offers may be made via instant messenger, emails and text messages in Macquarie’s name. The aim of the fraud is to obtain personal information and/or money through requests for application, processing and/or software fees. Macquarie’s name and logo often feature on the documentation and in the communications without authority.
