As a member of the Macquarie team, you are one of our most important assets. Our business depends on being a good employer, and we take seriously our role of making sure that staff remain motivated, challenged, safe and free to reach their full potential.  We aim to create a fulfilling place to work, where you will be treated with respect and given the freedom to make your mark with your team, clients, customers and industry. Culture and people

Our culture is characterised by six key qualities: integrity, client commitment, striving for profitability, fulfillment for our people, teamwork and the highest standards. These qualities are the essence of Macquarie’s success.

When joining Macquarie, you will become part of a team made up of intelligent, ambitious and talented individuals with a variety of experiences. Our non-bureaucratic, ‘can do’ culture is a key contributor to our success and positive working environment. Macquarie encourages excellence and new ideas in everyone.

Macquarie in the community

Macquarie is recognised for the valuable contribution we make to the wider community. Each year, the Macquarie Group Foundation funds programs that benefit the entire community, in areas of education, the arts, health research, health care, welfare and the environment. Within these areas, we look for opportunities that are innovative, genuinely responsive to the community's needs and that also enable us to contribute our time and expertise, as well as our financial support.

Managing your career

Macquarie seeks to recruit the best people, without discrimination or bias. We employ people from diverse backgrounds. Competition is tight because we aim to find the best, but you should not be discouraged from applying for vacancies, because we consider every application carefully and seriously, recognising individual merit.

Macquarie’s management style fosters entrepreneurial endeavor within a controlled, risk-management environment. Our bias is to say “yes” to opportunity. Where appropriate, we encourage you to move between divisions to further your professional development. However, you will be required to spend a minimum amount of time in a division before transferring, to ensure that you have developed expertise in and shown commitment to one particular business.

Our remuneration packages are among the most competitive in the industry, and include a profit share component, based on both your individual performance and the overall performance of the organisation during the past 12 months.

Travel opportunities

Macquarie employs over 7,700 people in 23 countries, providing the opportunity for staff to work in other locations. As an international niche player, we have the flexibility to enter new markets as opportunities arise. We encourage staff to consider international opportunities in our global offices based on their skills and expertise.

Training and study support

Macquarie believes in on-the-job training, and provides a supportive structure for new recruits. This includes technical training, exposure to different aspects of a division and induction courses. Training courses are targeted to your development needs.

Should you choose to undertake further study, Macquarie actively encourages and supports you to complete courses that are relevant to your position.

Record of success and growth

Macquarie has reported record profit and growth every year since 1992. Since listing on the Australian Stock Exchange in 1996, our growing number of shareholders have benefited from a return on equity consistently higher than 20 percent. Macquarie has been active in Asia for over 10 years, and is continuing to consistently develop its profile and reputation across  Asia.

Investment in technology

Macquarie invests heavily in IT to improve efficiency and better serve our clients. Technology is key to product and service differentiation, and you can be assured that by working with Macquarie, you will be joining an organisation which is capable of providing innovative solutions to complex business problems.

Equal Opportunity Employment

Macquarie welcomes applications from people with disabilities. If you have a disability which means it may be difficult to submit your application online, or in other circumstances you are unable to apply online, please contact our Recruitment Manager to discuss alternative ways you can apply.
